Hello Friends, I always wanted to make a key holder for my home but did'nt find the opportunity to do so. Today when i saw some old magazines lying under the bookshelf , the idea of recycling this magazines into a key holder came to my mind.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Two old magazines
- Paint tube caps
- old magazine papers
- Aluminium Foil
- Marker
- Chart paper or Canvas paper
- Heart shaped stickers
- Push Pins
PROCEDURE:
I took two old magazines for my project. More than two becomes heavy and won't stick in the wall. I had lot of empty paint tubes with me. So decided to use the paint tube caps as key holders. You can also use Toothpaste caps.
Take a thick sheet of paper ( chart paper , canvas paper etc) and colour it with a mixture blue and green colour. I used distress ink to do the colouring part. Then using black marker draw the tree.
On one side of the magazines i stuck the picture and on the other side i pasted a thick sheet of paper.
To make the magazines heavy i used clay to seal all the edges. You can use any material which gives the magazines some heaviness. I used glitter heart stickers here. Depending on the number of holders you want you can stick as many hearts.
The whole thing should be air dried for a day or two for the clay to become hard. In the center I stuck a white sheet of paper for writing the quote. Decorated the project using spiral roses and sattin bow. I avoided too much decorations as i needed space to hang keys and the embellishments should not prevent this project from day to day use. After finishing i added a black frame to it.
The key holder made by recycling the magazines and caps is ready for use. This is not only a key holder but also a lovely wall decor.
Hope you enjoyed ...
Happy Craftig!!!
