CHRISTMAS MESSAGES IN A BOX

Hello friends, Today I have an exciting post to share with you all. I made a match box style gift box for Christmas. I followed the tutorial of Rachel's matchbox template and adjusted the measurements to suit my needs. (Picture heavy post)

The box measures 17*10*10.5 cm. I have used black card stock and DCWV paper for the outer cover of the box. I decorated the box using red foam roses and pearls. I created a window at the center and pasted a transparent plastic sheet so that the contents inside the box are visible.

For the inside drawer I have recycled the packaging material . Then I painted the outside of the box using black acrylics and used green pattern paper for the inside of the drawer.  Now what is inside the box?? Lets open it...

The box contains 5 tags, each conveying a message of the Santa Claus for Christmas which is Joy, peace, believe , hope and finally merry Christmas.  This month at CSCC we are celebrating Christmas. Its time for making "Christmas Tags". So this is what I made for my DT inspiration. Check out my post here.

Here is the close up of each tag:

For this tag I have used papers from DCWV paper stack. The flowers are handmade using six petal punch and cardstock. At the center of the flowers I have used Urad dal instead of pollen.

For this tag I  created the background using distress inks and the lines are drawn using black ballpoint pen. The flowers are handmade and distressed using inks.

In this tag I have used pattern paper from recollections for the background and the flowers are handmade using A4 paper and colored using watercolors.

I stuck a piece of newspaper upon the card stock and applied pink and yellow alcohol inks. Then I embellished the tag using handmade flowers and die cuts.

The last tag is made using glitter foam sheet and handmade spiral roses. The sentiment is handwritten.

I arranged my tags into a decorative Christmas wall hanging conveying the messages of the festival. Am dedicating this post and this gift to my best friend Helen Catherine who is very special to me. She is my college friend and we used to spend lot of time together and have the taste in almost everything.  Merry Christmas Helen... My small dedication to you...

Here is the overall picture of the project. Hope you all like my match box with Christmas messages. Do join us at CSCC.

AUTUMN GARDEN LAYOUT

Hello , Welcome back !! Today am going to share with you all a fall layout. So come on friends , have a look at my  Autumn garden ...

Since its just 12 days to go for thanksgiving and so many challenges theme being "AUTUMN" I am here with an Autumn garden LO. For this LO I have used DCWV paper as the base , upon which I sprayed blue and yellow colour inks.. Then I applied orange distress inks randomly over the paper.

The window and the pumpkin are handmade using cardstock and acrylic paints. All the flowers are handmade using Recollections six petal punch. The small blue flowers and leaves are handcut and distressed using inks. The butterfly is printed from internet.

I pasted a yellow foam border to the windows and added a lace at the bottom. Then I pasted the entire LO on a brown cardstock. Finally added a blue satin bow.

I din't have much space to write sentiment on my LO. So created a tag and added a small poem of "Fall thanks"

I used floral wire to join the LO and tag. Here is the pic of my fall wall hanging.

Below are some of the pics of fall season in California....

Happy thanksgiving.... Have a crafty weekend....

GRUNGY MASCULINE LAYOUT AND BLOG ANNIVERSARY

Hello friends, first of all I would like to thank you all for your support and encouragement given to my blog. It has been ONE year since I started this blog and in this journey I have learnt lots of new crafts from my fellow bloggers and artists. Have a look at the new appearance of my blog customized based on the peacock theme. I hope you will continue your support. Your comments/ suggestions/feedback are always welcome. Keep visiting my blog.

Now moving onto today's post....Today am sharing with you all a grungy masculine layout made using pattern papers, distress inks, newspapers and stamps.

I took a brown pattern paper from "once upon a time" paper stack and pasted it on a cardstock. I stamped the pattern paper using tim holtz visual artistry stamps. I added two layers of vintage newspaper upon this ( Handmade by distressing ordinary newspaper). Then I started adding "masculine elements" for eg camera roll, gear etc. Everything is hand- cut from cardstock.

Then I cut the cardstock into small tags and stamped each one on them and glued it to my layout.

To give it a grungy look distressed the edges using black ink.

Hope you all liked my grungy masculine layout.
